PBL MULTIPLE ACTIVATION BYPASS SYSTEM
This system is the leading multi-cycle circulating tool in the Oil & Gas industry today.
The tool has proven itself for decades, offering the perfect solution for a wide range of drilling problems
With its robust and proven design, the PBL Multiple Activation Bypass System offers a simple, cost-effective technical solution to common drilling problems, such as lost circulation and limited circulating rates.
As it helps to reduce the number of trips and limit non-productive time when circulating, the PBL Tool has a positive financial impact to lowering drilling costs.
ACTIVATION MECHANISM
-
The Standard Ball is the most commonly used activation medium for DSI PBL tools.
Application: Temperature up to 230°C/450°F Density of 1.34sg or 11.2 ppg
-
The fast Ball is a much denser activation ball in comparison to the standard ball and, is used in applications where high mud weights and high temperatures occur.
This feature allows for a quicker activation of the PBL tool which is especially helpful in situations where there is limited or no circulation.
Application: Temperature up to 260°C/500°F Density of 2.50sg/20.9ppg
-
This is a heavy dart, which can be used in the highest mud weights, or where mud cannot be circulated e.g. packed-off situation whereby it facilitates activation by gravity drop.
It is much faster than a standard ball, hence it reduces activation time significantly.
-
The dart allows drilling fluid to be split partially through the BHA and partially to the annulus.
The percentage split to BHA and annulus can be customized to suit customers’ specific needs, and can be pre-set by means of installing suitably sized jet nozzles in the Split Flow Dart and Side Ports subsequent to performing necessary hydraulics calculations.

PBL MULTI ACTIVATION JETTTING TOOL
The Jetting Tool is a specialised solution, allowing for diverse cleanout operations, such as cleaning inside the BOP.
This features an outer spiral sleeve containing up to 30 nozzles, allowing high velocity jetting operations to be carried out without rotating the drillpipe.
ACTIVATION MECHANISM
-
The simplest and most reliable tool for most applications.
It can activated and deactivated again up to five times – extended catcher cages accommodate up to ten cycles.
Application: Temperature up to 260°C/500°F Density of 1.34sg/11.2 ppg

PBL SLIDING SLEEVE BIG BORE SYSTEM
The Sliding Sleeve Big Bore (SSBB) System was developed for drilling operations where the retrievability of LWD radioactive sources in the BHA below the SSBB Tool is required.
As tool does not contain a ball cage, it allows for an unlimited number of cycles.
the SSBB Tool features a much larger internal ID, allowing lows retrieval from below the SSBB Tool and also giving an unlimited number of cycles when opening or closing the tool.
ACTIVATION MECHANISM
-
This activation option does not require a ball catcher cage and can be activated and deactivated an unlimited number of times, allowing retrievability of nuclear sources or probes from the BHA below the tool.

BOOSTER BYPASS TOOL
The Booster Bypass Tool is the most powerful option for splitting the flow during drilling, completion and workover operations.
Activated by a vinyl ball, a pre-calculated percentage of drilling fluid passes through the tool to the BHA and drill bit below. At the same time, three field-interchangeable jetting nozzles on the side of the tool are directed up-hole to give increased annular fluid velocity, maximised hole cleaning and minimal well bore erosion. The tool can be cycled to provide split flow up to 10 times.
